Samsung has unveiled a new version of its external HDD called the Story Station. The new version is called the Story Station Plus and is a 3.5-inch form factor external HDD with eSATA connectivity. The eSATA connectivity allows for a 3Gbps connection speed.

The new version of the drive is available in 2TB capacity, which is enough storage according to Samsung for 500,000 MP3s, 560,000 digital photos, or 880 hours of video. The drive also has the Samsung low power design.

The low power design allows the drive to reduce standby power by up to 96% down to 0.1 watts from the typical 2.5W. The drive is available in 1TB or 2TB capacities and includes Samsung Auto Backup. The 2TB version retails for $299.
