Have you ever wondered what it would be like if eBay made a Smartphone? No, probably not. But, regardless of whether or not the question's ever crossed your mind, you're about to get an answer. Taobao.com, the largest auction site in China and main rival to eBay, is teaming up with Lenovo to launch a smartphone. (PC World) This device will carry an app on it that allows users to quickly and easily search and make purchases on Taobao.com.There's no official information out about the specs, hardware, or even OS of this new device. Shanzai.com thinks that the new device could use Android. The open source OS holds a lot of appeal to developers like Taobao. It's established, popular, and means less work for them building or licensing an operating system.
