Call of Duty Franchise Eclipses $3B in Global Sales

Buy Call of Duty from Amazon Cyber Monday and Black Friday Now

The Call of Duty franchise has given us some of the most popular shooters to ever hit the PC and console game systems. The franchise has a reputation for offering some of the best multiplayer action available as well. Activision has announced that the franchise has hit a milestone.

The entire Call of duty franchise has now sold $3 billion in copies globally. That number is significantly boosted by Modern Warfare 2's sales, which have hit $550 million in its first five days of availability. The original Modern Warfare is still the top selling first person action game of all time.

The franchise will continue and it is certainly one of the most successful of all for Activision. That is certainly a lot of games sold and makes me wonder what the new title would have done if the economy was better.
