Dell Unveils Precision M6500 Workstation

Dell has unveiled a new high-end workstation called the Precision 6500. The workstation has gobs of power and is designed to be one of the most powerful workstations ever. The starting price is $2749 and the machine has lots of options that will drive the price up considerably from that starting figure.

The machine can be optioned with up to 16GB of RAM in four DIMM slots. The machine supports DDR3 1600MHz memory and can be fitted with an optional Intel Core i7-920XM quad core extreme edition processor.

The screen is 17-inches and an optional RGB LED unit is available with 100% color gamut. OS options include 32 and 64-bit versions of Windows 7, Vista, XP, and Red Hat Linux. Dell also offers the Quadro FX 3800M GPU as an option.
