The Sony HDR-TG5V is a milestone in the line of full-featured compact
camcorders designed by Sony to give the photographer ultimate satisfaction.
Utilizing the popular “Flip” vertical format, the Sony HDR-TG5V packs High
Definition features into a small package that was once only believable in
science fiction.
The Sony HDR-TG5V records video up to 1920 x 1080p allowing the user to record
their memories in exceptional Sony full high definition quality. 16GB of
embedded flash memory gives the user the ability to record up to two hours of
high definition video at the highest quality settings. Constructed of pure
titanium the Sony HDR-TG5V is remarkably durable and lightweight, making it an
ideal travel companion. Additionally, the 4-megapixel still image capture lets
you take high-resolution digital photos. The built-in flash reduces shadows and
improves pictures for added clarity and detail when taking pictures in low-light
situations.
The Sony HDR-TG5V’s optical zoom helps to bring far away action up close. Digital Zoom Interpolation means that digital zooming (up to 120x) is
clearer, with less distortion than previous types of digital zoom. The 1/5-inch
Exmor CMOS image sensor with ClearVid array delivers bright, vivid, and
exceptionally detailed 2.3 megapixel (effective) video footage, as well as 4
megapixel still images—all with prolonged battery life. An Auto Lens Cover
protects the lens when the Sony HDR-TG5V camcorder is powered off.
Easily connect the Sony HDR-TG5V to a PC via the USB interface for fast transfer
of video and still images for editing. The high-definition multimedia interface
(HDMI) allows you to connect to an HDTV to view images in stunning clarity.
Other features of the Sony HDR-TG5V include smile shutter technology that
automatically snaps quality photos as subjects smile, and Face Detection
technology that can recognize and enhance faces by correcting focus, exposure,
and color control automatically.
Sony HDR-TG5V has 16GB of built-in flash memory and a sleek and durable design
allowing for great handling. It produces low noise levels in bright light with
decent color performance along with a good touch screen. It also offers GPS
capability and slow motion recording. But the weak points are that it does not have a 24p or 30p record mode, only takes 2 megapixel still photos and does not provide any color adjustment tools.
Great Gift For
The Sony HDR-TG5V an ideal gift for the travel lover because it can be
carried with ease and slipped into a pocket or purse and taken anywhere.
Price and Where to Buy
The Sony HDR-TG5V is currently on sale for $794.99 at
Amazon.com.
