If the analysts are right and MIDs are dead, they're making one hell of a final stand. PMP Today reports that Shenzhen Seed Industrial is launching a new MID with a slick, slender body and a VIA C7 processor. The C7 is basically VIA's answer to Qualcomm's Snapdragon. It delivers 1 GHz of processing power to the HT560, which packs a 5.6" touchscreen and Windows XP.
The HT560 also has a front-facing camera (yay for video conferencing!) a 16 GB SSD, WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth, and 1 GB of RAM. Not bad for a device that's expected to roll in under $500.

In the last few months, we've seen a whole bunch of slender, fashionable MIDs come in at affordable price points. Today's MIDs are less like PCs and more like smartphones or PMPs.
