CES 2010 starts early next month. Asus, one of the manufacturers with the most exciting 2010 device line-up, has already given a sneak preview of their CES offerings to the crew at Tweaktown. They showed off the O!Play Air, Asus' new HD media player. This latest version of the O!Play sports an SD card reader and WiFi. The remote control and interface have been reworked for this edition. The UI still won't win any awards for style, but it does look more intuitive. The O!Play Air will be in stores soon, possibly in time for Christmas.
Asus will also be bringing their new Maximus III Extreme Motherboard to CES 2010. This new board includes ROG Connect, a new feature that allows the user to overclock and alter the BIOS of his machine from another computer. The ROG Connect requires a special USB cable that runs from a specific ROG port into another computer. In the video, Asus uses a netbook as the BIOS machine.
The Cine5 surround sound speaker bar is another Asus gadget bound for CES 2010. It's billed as providing high-quality surround sound, despite only being a tiny speaker bar. Tweaktown says it works great, we'll have to take their word for it until we can see one in the flesh. There may also be a version of the Cine5 with a built-in subwoofer in the works.
CES 2010 is shaping up to be a great show for Asus. We'll keep you updated as more products and information about next year's show leak out.
CES 2010 will start on January 7, 2010 and lasts until the 10th. Of course CES news is already pouring in. Read about it in our CES 2010 section.
