The Nokia N900 is Nokia’s first smartphone possessing a Desktop operating
system. It is using the Maemo 5 Linux based operating system. With the Nokia
N900’s powerful features such as ARM Cortex-A8 processor, up to 1GB of
application memory and OpenGL ES 2.0 graphics acceleration, it allows you to
deal with multiple application windows at the same while being able to get
maximum utility from its touch screen, cellular features and QWERTY keyboard.
The fact that every application window can be accessed through the dashboard at
any time means that you can easily switch between applications. You can enjoy
great personalization with the N900 homescreen, which empowers you to include
widgets, preferred shortcuts, and applications in your homescreen. The Nokia
N900 comes to you with a high-resolution WVGA touch screen and HSPA and WLAN,
which makes web browsing more exciting and convenient. The web browser from
Mozilla technology gives you a PC-like website viewing experience.
Adobe Flash 9.4 support enables you to get the most out of online videos and interactive applications. You will not have to bother with updating your Maemo
software because it gets updated automatically over the internet. The full physical slide-out QWERTY keyboard makes messaging effortless. You can
also easily create emails and the Nokia Messaging service permits you to send emails to up to 10 personal email accounts at a time. You can view all
text messages or IM exchanges simultaneously and a separate window will be allocated for each conversation.
The Nokia N900 gives you a storage capacity of 32GB and if you want more, a
microSD card will help you to increase the storage capacity to up to 48GB. The
new tag cloud user interface of the N900 gives added functional efficiency to
the 5MP camera and Carl Zeiss optics, which provides for enhanced photographic
pleasure. The N900 has a removable battery and the assisted-GPS receiver in
combination with the pre-installed Ovi Maps facilitates you to easily locate
where you are and get route suggestions.
