The Sony Ericsson Satio combines the stunning technological legacy of the
Walkman brand of audio players with the cutting-edge digital prowess of the
Cybershot prosumer camera line into a richly featured smartphone. This means an
industry-leading camera with a full range of multimedia playback options based
on the Symbian S60 5th edition operating system, all in your hand.
The Saito software glitch that was in the news a while ago is now fixed according to Reuters.
The all-new Sony Ericsson Satio features a 3.5" 16 million-color resistive touchscreen with a 640 x 360 pixel resolution, 12 megapixel state-of-the-art autofocus camera with LED and xenon flash, active lens cover and VGA@30fps video recording. An ARM Cortex-A8 600 MHz CPU, PowerVR SGX dedicated graphics accelerator and 256 MB of RAM provide stunning visual effects and graphical power. Quad-band GSM support, 3G with HSDPA 7.2 Mbps and HSUPA 3.6 Mbps support,
Wi-Fi and GPS with A-GPS and microSD card slot (up to 32GB) are the added
advantages of the Sony Ericsson Satio.
Additionally, the Sony Ericsson Satio has a built-in accelerometer and stereo FM
radio. At only 0.5 inches thick and weighing 4.4 ounces, the Satio is unrivaled
in size and features. Xenon flash (the best type for camera phones), Dual LED
flash (for recording video), up to 12x digital zoom and auto focus are deciding
factors of the Satio. Face detection, image stabilization, GPS geotagging, and
touch focus bring the high-tech features of a fully independent digital camera
to the Satio, one of the only phones in the world to contain so many features.
The Sony Ericsson Satio’s large 3.5-inch screen is great for movie viewing and
web browsing and image processing is fast, less than 1 second. Other important
factors are sharper details on images and it fares better than the Pixon 12 in
low lighting conditions. The main disadvantages of the Sony Ericsson Satio are
bulky looks and slow autofocus, which can take up to 3 seconds. Lack of digital
compass, stereo speakers and office editing software are the downsides of this
otherwise lovely device.
Great Gift For
The Sony Ericsson Satio is a great gift for those looking for a phone not
many people will own right now in the United States as it is only available in
Europe from carriers. Alone the 12MP camera will impress BlackBerry, Droid and
iPhone owners amongst your friends.
Price and Where to Buy
The unlocked Sony Ericsson Satio sells for $739.99 right now via
Amazon.com.
