Who needs a paper shredder anymore? We live in a digital world, and we store more of our files on CDs and DVDs than anything else. That's why Aleratec is releasing the DVD/CD Shredder XC. This device is rated to shred all optical disks, be it Blu-ray, DVD or what have you. It also handles paper, and thick plastic objects like credit cards. The Aleratec shredder uses a cross cut operation, which destroys the CD more thoroughly. The DVD/CD Shredder XC can handle one optical disk, 1 credit card, or up to 5 sheets of paper at a time. It has auto start, stop, and reverse functions. The total weight is 15.4 pounds, and the product is 13.4" x 9.5" x 20.6". This shredder will be available on December 8th. The current estimated retail price is $74.99.
