The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Prestige Edition is among the three newly unveiled editions of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 with the other two being the regular copy of the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and its Hardened Edition. The Prestige Edition includes a copy of the game, a metallic case and an art book. In the art book, you can find concept drawings depicting the developmental process of the game. The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Prestige Edition also includes a token, which will gives gamers access to a copy of the original Call of Duty PC title, which is to be released later and made available at Xbox Live Arcade and the PlayStation Network.

The feature that makes this edition stand out from the pack is a pair of fully functional night vision goggles, which facilitates up to 50 feet visibility in complete darkness in black & white or night vision green. The night vision goggles are a nice gadget to surprise your cat in the dark. When unused, you can store your goggles in a sculpted "Soap" McTavish head provided with this edition. The earlier Modern Warfare did not allow users to attain a unique identity by customizing their profile features.

However, the Modern Warfare 2 allows you to customize your Call Sign and the emblem that helps others identify you during matches and in the lobby so that you will be able to get recognition for your exploits in the game. You can also make your online profile reflect your personality, which encourages you to play this game more. The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Prestige Edition is also equipped with many new weapons. It comes to you with a richer Secondary weapon category, which means you can get hold of powerful weapons without pocketing the adequate perks.

With this edition’s Secondary weapon category, you will have access to guns like a shotgun, magnum or automatic pistol. Your capability of unlocking new items in the course of play gets a boost as well with the option of supplementing your secondary weapons with items such as sights and silencers. The Prestige Edition costs $149 USD whereas the Hardened Edition costs only $79. The price difference between the two editions can be solely attributed to the night vision goggles included with the Prestige Edition.

The new weapons and added features are going to make this game readily acceptable among gamers. The availability of a pair of fully functional night vision goggles is going to give gamers a refreshingly new gaming experience. But, the additional cost of $70 consumers have to spend for the night vision goggles may make the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Prestige Edition a rare purchase. People may dub this edition too costly for comfort.
