LaCie And Symwave Offer First USB 3.0 RAID Storage Solution

LaCie and Symwave have announced that they have teamed up to produce the world's first USB 3.0 dual-drive RAID storage solution. The device is called the LaCie 2Big USB 3.0 drive. The storage device is powered by Symwave's USB 3.0 dual SATA and RAID controller.

The drive is able to reach the highest throughput ever achieved in a USB 3.0 external storage product. The data throughput is up to 275MB/s. The drive is available in up to 4TB capacity and ships with software for Mac and PCs.

Pricing and availability for the drive are unknown. LaCie and Symwave will show the drive off at CES in a few weeks.
