I like my rumors the way I like my corporate executives; vague and unclear. Another slightly-sketchy but oh-so-plausible rumor has made its way onto the tech blogs. SlashGear (via Unthinkable) reports that LG's next smartphone offering, the Prada 3, could end up sporting the Android operating system. LG's always placed a lot of importance in the Prada series as being fashionable and stylish, and Android is definitely the "in" OS right now.
The Prada 3 is set to pack a QWERTY keyboard and a touchscreen and will most likely be sold by Sprint, making it the first CDMA Prada. If these rumors are true, the Prada 3 will also be the first Prada smartphone to hit the United States. It's possible our first look at this smartphone will come very soon; at CES 2010.We know that LG is scheduled for a joint press event with Sprint, hosted by Brooke Shields. (As an aside, what the hell does Brooke Shields have to do with high-tech smartphones? I've got nothing against Blue Lagoon but couldn't they have at least gotten a nerdier celebrity? I can't imagine Nathan Fillion is all that busy right now.) It is possible that the Prada 3 is the phone they intend to launch at this event, which could make this new device the first WiMax smartphone.
CES 2010 will start on 7th of January 2010 and lasts until 10th. Of course CES news are already pouring in. Read them in our CES 2010 section.
