There's a nifty sort of novelty to ordering things through your smartphone...the first time or two. After that, filling in all those blanks on a tiny screen with a little keyboard is just a pain in the ass. That's why Mophie, makers of iPhone extended battery packs, are working on building a credit card reader accessory to the iPhone. Pocket Lint has a mock-up image of the device and states that more information will be given at CES 2010. Hopefully, that means an actual demo of the product itself.
As it is currently designed, the credit card reader slips onto your iPhone like an extra battery pack. It will come with a 3rd party app that will allow you to automatically make and process payments on the go. Want to nab that deal on Ebay while traipsing through the museum? Done. Need to make a deposit on a hotel room from the middle of the interstate? All it'll take is a swipe of your card.
CES 2010 will start on the 7th of January 2010 and lasts until the 10th. Of course CES news is already pouring in. Read it in our CES 2010 section.
