Those of you following the CES 2010 news know how this goes. AverMedia has just announced two new products, both of which are currently on display at the show. The first is SnugTV, a new service that works on any PC with a TV tuner card and an Internet connection. You go to www.snugtv.com to make an account, and then you can turn your personal computer into a private TV station and give your friends access to streaming TV from your station. SnugTV is PC and Mac compatible.
Next up is the AVerTV HD DVR. This external DVR lets you record 1080i HD video content to your PC and has a built-in scheduling feature so you can program the start and end time of shows that come from HD Cable or a Satellite Set-Tuo-Box. You can also use this device to convert VCR tapes over to digital format. This HD DVR will be available in March for $199.
