The PC Shipments surged in the last quarter of 2009 by 15% globally (IDC, Gartner says 22%) and about 25% in the United States.
Apparently the bargain notebook deals and netbooks during the holidays have been the driver behind the surge. I would also give Windows 7 a bit of credit here.
HP is still the leader in global PC shipments followed by Acer and Dell. Lenovo is in fourth place and Toshiba is 5th.
Apple is not in the top 5 globally and also fell to 5th place in the United States, but still saw a 31% shipment increase.
More data about the Q4 PC Shipments can be found in this Reuters report.
