Telefonica Launches New Novatel MC996D HSPA+ USB Modem

Telefonica has announced that it will be offering a new HSPA+ USB modem from Novatel called the MC996D. The new modem is a high-speed device capable of peak data speeds up to 21.6 Mbps for downloads and 5.76 Mbps for uploads.

The device supports 900 and 2100MHz frequencies and can provide global connectivity for people who travel frequently overseas. The modem supports up to 32GB microSD cards allowing it to work as a USB drive and a modem.

The device will sell for euro 49 and the first three months of service will be free for the user. The device is available for purchase now.
