Amazon has announced that it will be expanding its publishing program for the Kindle platform. Publishers writing in languages other than English can now publish works to the Kindle digital bookstore using the Kindle Digital Text Program.

Previously the program was only available to publishers in the US. Now the program is open to publishers in other countries allowing the upload and sell of books in English, German, and French to the Kindle Store.

Amazon says that more language offerings will be added to the program in the coming months. “We are excited to make the self-service Kindle Digital Text Platform available to authors and publishers around the world,” said Russ Grandinetti, Vice President, Kindle Content. “Now any content owner can offer English, German or French-language books to the fast-growing audience of Kindle owners around the globe.”
