Lots of different people have reasons to find Mobile DTV interesting, but it is pretty clear that these products have one specific type of customer in mind over all others. Sports fans, the dedicated ones who can't stand to miss a game or any commentary ON said games, are the people that devices like the FLO TV were made for. But don't take my word for it. Here's Jonathan Barzilay, SVP of programming for FLO TV,
“Live sports are a sweet spot for FLO TV, consistently delivering some of our highest viewership numbers,”
Qualcomm knows who butters the FLO TV's bread, which is why they are launching the "Reward Your Inner Athlete" marketing campaign. This year, FLO TV owners will be able to watch 3000+ hours of sports programming and 1,200+ live sporting events over the course of the year. These include over 90 NBA games, 76 MLB games, almost 200 NCAA football games (including 25 Bowl games), 350 NCAA basketball games (including Final Four and Championship games), and 11 NHL games (including 13 playoff games and the Stanley Cup Final). Oh, and there will also be four tennis majors.
