Texas Instruments has announced a new development kit called the DLP LightCommander and a development kit for picoprojectors called the DLP Pico Projector Development Kit v2. The LightCommander is a dev kit that has an optical light engine, industry standard interfaces, and application software. The modular architecture of the device helps make optical, electronic, and system software development faster.
TI says that the LightCommander will help the users to get their prototype up and running in minutes rather than hours. The device is designed and supported by Logic. The LightCommander will be available this spring for $2499.
The Pico Projector Development Kit v2 is a light modulation solution that can be integrated into structured lighting apps like 3D optical measurement, machine vision, biometrics, and surveillance. The new update to the dev kit lets users connect to a PC for out of the box operation, sync signal output, and selectable DMD pattern rates. The dev kit is available now for $349.

About the Geek Mind
The “geek mind” is concerned with more than just the latest iPhone rumors, or which company will win the gaming console wars. I4U is concerned with more than just the latest photo shoot or other celebrity gossip.
The “geek mind” is concerned with life, in all its different forms and facets. The geek mind wants to know about societal and financial issues, both abroad and at home. If a Fortune 500 decides to raise their minimum wage, or any high priority news, the geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants to know the top teams in the National Football League, or who’s likely to win the NBA Finals this coming year. The geek mind wants to know who the hottest new models are, or whether the newest blockbuster movie is worth seeing. The geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants—needs—knowledge.
