If you watched the iPad video that Apple just published after the media event you saw that the iPad is incredibly fast. The animated user nicely interface is just flying.
Flipping pages or zooming into maps looks totally smooth. Additionally at 10 hours the iPad's battery life doesn't suck.
The Apple iPad is powered by the first Apple CPU. The Apple A4 chip's details have not been unveiled. It runs at 1Ghz and the result is that the user interface on the iPad looks super fast.
