Do we live in a fairy tale? The Apple presentation of the Apple iPad Tablet has way too much talk about magic for me.
If you call something you make magic, it is probably not. If a future user of the iPad says that the iPad is magical then that is a great accolade, but if a company is selling you magic it really does not sound trustworthy to me.
Why is Apple now so intensively talking about magic? Just watch the iPad video presentation. It is full of magic talk by Jonathan Ive. He says if you do not understand how something works it becomes magic.
But what is there not to understand? The iPad is a giant iPhone with a new super fast Apple A4 CPU. It is a great technical achievement, but far from something completely different. It is still a computer and it magically does not support Adobe Flash.
I really hope Apple stops that Magic crap and just keeps it real. The iPad is a great product that I will pre-order as soon as Apple lets me.
The $499 price is kicking Microsoft and Intel really hard into their groin. The only real competition for the iPad in the foreseeable future will come from the Google Chrome OS and Android camp.
