In the Apple iPad announcement Apple states that the iPad will be available in late March worldwide. Now evidence mounts that the iPad will not launch world-wide.
For starters, there is still no pricing available for the iPad in international markets. The U.S. Apple site is the only one that is featuring the iPad on the main site and in the Apple Store.

Update:
iPad pages now available on the international Apple sites UK, Deutschland). The pricing tab just shows still the USD prices, but Apple confirms again that the Wifi iPad ships end of March.
That the 3G iPad will be available later is understandable. Carrier negotiations take time. I expected Apple to ship the Wifi iPad world-wide at the same time.
Since the iPad does not have GPS and I am anyway just planning to use the iPad at home, I am set to get the low-end 16GB Wifi iPad.
Since most Apple products ship directly from China, I do not see a reason why the Wifi iPad is only available in the United States at launch.
Maybe Apple is still working on the translations of the iPad marketing material and that is the reason why it did not show up yet on international Apple sites.
If Apple delays the international launch of the iPad I already see a nice business for selling over-priced U.S. iPad to European Apple fans.
