The new system is set to start on April 1 and calls to any virgin Mobile phone will be free. Presumably, that means that you can call the mobile anywhere without long distance charges racking up.
There are a few caveats to the new service with calls having to be less than 60 minutes long and the plan the user is on controls when calls are free. Fro instance XL phone packages get free calls anytime. L plans get them on evenings and weekends, and M plans only get free weekends.
