When you hear "Vaio" the word "expensive" probably comes to mind also. Sony's "hip" notebook series is famous for having great physical design and a correspondingly high price. The company appears to be trying to soften that image, though. They've just launched the new E-Series of notebooks. These machines come in five glossy translucent colors; Caribbean Green, Iridescent Blue, Coconut White, Hibiscus Pink and Lava Black. There are also three matte color options; Maple Brown, Silver White and Gunmetal.
All notebooks in the E-Series feature DVD/CD read-write functionality. They can also have an optional Blu-ray disc drive. These Vaios feature a 15.5" widescreen display with optional HD. All E-series machines also have HDMI out. "Select" models will come with an Intel Core i5 processor with Hyper-threading and Turbo Boost. They may choose up to a 500 GB HDD, and all of these new Vaios run Windows 7 Home Premium.
So, how much is one of these fancy Vaios going to cost you? Just $700. Mind you, that's only a starting point. The fancier models will set you back by quite a bit more. To pre-order visit Sony's website.
