Today, new model EliteBooks are out and shipping. Electronista reports that the 8440 and 8540 are both available for order. The 8440p sports a 14" monitor, 2.4 GHz Core i5 processor, 2 GB of DDR3 RAM, Intel integrated graphics, and a 250 GB HDD. The 8540 packs a 15" monitor and a 320 GB HDD, in addition to Nvidia Quadro 5100M graphics.
Pre-configured versions of both models are available now. They can include a Core i7-620M 2.66 GHz CPU, up to 4 GB of RAM, and Quadro FX880M graphics. All versions of both models include double-layer DVD writers, a 2 MP webcam, and 802.11n WiFi. The 8440p pricing starts at $979, while the 8540's price starts at $1,449 and goes up, up, up from there.
