Samson makes all sorts of sound gear from mics to recording kits for the home computer. The company has announced that it is expanding its line of portable Expedition sound systems. The new models are due out this year and include the XP40iw and the XP501i.

Both of the new products have an integrated iPod dock to allow for easy playback of tracks during parties and events. The XP40iw is a 40W sound system with a wireless mic and a rechargeable battery pack. It features two inputs allowing for additional mics.

The XP510i has 500W of power and dual 2-way speakers with a detachable 10-channel mixer. The 500W of power is reached with dual 250W Class D amps. Each speaker uses 10-inch woofers in a vented enclosure for bass and the system uses 1-inch drivers for highs. Exact pricing on the two new models isn't offered, but the XP40iw will be under $300 and the XP510i will be under $700.
