It looks like the JooJoo might actually launch. Boy Genius reports that the device has entered production and will be shipping this month. A long legal battle between TechCrunch and Fusion Garage is still on the horizon but, for the time being, it looks like the JooJoo could be a reality. If you really want to risk ordering one, I'd suggest doing it after the first customers have received the product.
Fusion Garage also announced the imminent launch of an app store for the JooJoo. Since it looks like this tablet may now become a reality, the iPad may have its first legitimate competitor. The JooJoo is, in terms of hardware, at least the iPad's equal. It packs a 12.1” multitouch capacitive touchscreen, b/g WiFi, a 4 GB SSD, front-facing camera, accelerometer, integrated speakers, and a 3.5 mm headphone jack.
It doesn't have nearly as much space as the iPad does, but the JooJoo makes up for it in other areas; Full Flash support and a USB slot. Sadly, this tablet lacks 3G. It is priced at $500, though. If I had to choose between the two, I would definitely pick a JooJoo over a 16 GB WiFi only iPad.
