Today is Super Bowl XLIV and we actually thought we know all Super Bowl 2010 advertisers by now. Out of nowhere comes a report that search giant Google is running their first Super Bowl commercial at the Super Bowl XLIV.
John Battelle broke the story about the Google Super Bowl ad and shortly after that Google CEO Eric Schmidt tweets: "Can't wait to watch the Superbowl tomorrow. Be sure to watch the ads in the 3rd quarter (someone said "Hell has indeed frozen over.")
According to Battelle's source Google will run an already published Google Ad called Parisian Love. You can watch the romantic Google sequence of Google queries below. This ad is not bad, but I am not sure if it will work during Super Bowl.
In any case the news that Google is airing a Super Bowl commercial has lit up the blogosphere. The $2.5m-$2.8m that Google paid for the ad are probably well spent already.
Just like last year, I4U News is featuring again the Super Bowl for Geeks Guide. Of course the Super Bowl
2010 for Geeks Guide is all about the Super Bowl Commercials and not the game. The Super Bowl XLIV takes place on Sunday, February 7th in Florida in the Sun Life Stadium.
