The wait until the Mobile World Conference was just too much for poor Samsung to bear. They cracked and announced the Monte just ahead of the big event (via BGR). The S5620 Monte runs off of the TouchWiz 2.0 Plus UI and features a 3” capacitive touchscreen, 3.2 MP camera, 200 MB of internal memory (plus SD support) as well as A-GPS, WiFi, and 3.6 Mbps UMTS/HSDPA.
Pricing and availability have yet to be announced. The device's listed 3G bands make it an unlikely North American arrival. We'll know more about this smartphone, and its place in Samsung's 2010 mobile strategy, once the MWC convenes.
