Is it the ads or the game? In any case the Super Bowl XLIV is, according to preliminary results from The Nielsen Company, the most watched Super Bowl and also the most watched television program of all time among households.
The M*A*S*H finale in 1983, which was seen by an average of 50.2 million homes has held that record for a very long time now.
Nielsen clocked an average of 106,480 million viewers during Super Bowl XLIV. The Super Bowl 2009 had 98,732 million viewers. Since 2008 the Super Bowl audience size has been setting records. Most likely Super Bowl XLV will set yet another record in 2011.
