Dolby and LG are showing off the first public demo of a 5.1 multichannel surround sound on a mobile phone using the latest version of Dolby mobile and an Android smartphone from LG. The new version of Dolby Mobile allows for discrete 5.1-channel surround sound.
The surround sound effects are simulated much like virtual surround sound on some TVs and home theater products in the home. So far, Dolby and LG have used Dolby tech in 20 different handsets that are already on the market or in development.
