Earlier today we reported about a hot now robot toy for the Holidays 2010 called Cheeky Monkey. The toy debuted at the Toy Fair 2010 in New York. We have received now more details and also a video demonstrating the animatronics monkey.
Cheeky Monkey is a fully animatronics, wearable, puppet controlled from a wireless remote concealed in your pocket.
The Monkey has 16 different actions and sounds. When not being controlled by the remote Cheeky will switch to 'Alive' mode where he will move and chatter away to himself.
Cheeky Monkey has two motors that give the puppet four degrees of freedom. Infra-red sensors in the eyes make it appear that Cheeky can look at people.
Jim Wyatt from MechRC says that there are also a few Easter eggs that they have hidden in Cheeky for you to find.
Cheeky Monkey will be available from MechRC starting in September for around $24.99. Given the low price Cheeky Monkey could really be a hot toy for the Holidays 2010.
