James Cameron has finally spilled the beans on the Avatar DVD launch dates. Yes, I did mean dates. Avatar is going to be yet another giant film that has an infuriating dual-launch. The 2D ('junky') version will hit stores in April, but we'll have to wait until November (TechRadar) to get our grubby mits on the 3D version.
Cameron told the Wall Street Journal that the first DVD will hit on April 22nd, Earth day. The 3D release was given a less specific launch date. Cameron's exact words; “I think November sometime.”
So, we've got until the end of this year to grab the Blu-ray players and 3D HDTVs we'll need to handle this whale of a film. On your mark, get set, BUY!
