General Imaging, the worldwide licensee of GE digital cameras, today unveiled its complete 2010 line-up, including the G5WP, an underwater-safe digital camera with video recording capabilities.
The G5WP will launch under GE's "Active Series" of cameras. It boasts a 12.2 megapixel lens and 4X internal zoom. With its metal construction and rugged design, it is waterproof up to 5 meters.
Samsung yesterday introduced the AQ100 underwater camera, ahead of the PMA show, with similar specifications. It will be interesting to see if underwater cameras become a trend for this year's line-up from other companies.
The G5WP will be available in "late Q2" in graphite gray, raspberry red, and ocean blue (pictured above). It will hit stores with a suggested retail price of around $180.
