Many people are looking to save some money on bills with the economy in such bad shape. One way you can cut costs if you still use a landline is to move to a cheaper phone service that uses VoIP. netTalk has been around for a while and the company has unveiled a new device called the TK6000.

The device connects to the normal phone you already have in the house and then connects to your broadband router. You can use the device to make phone calls with free local and long distance calling within the US. For free international calls the person you are calling needs to have a TK6000 as well.

The device is $99 and includes lifetime service. If you have relatives in different countries or states that you talk to a lot, buying a couple TK6000 devices could save you lots of money. The device doesn’t need a computer to work, only a broadband connection. The device can also be connected to the USB port on a computer to use the machines connection allowing you to make calls on the go with your notebook 3G connection. You will have to get a new phone number to use the device and E911 is supported.
