As reported earlier, TiVo unveiled a new generation of DVR devices with Internet media services dubbed TiVo Premiere. The new TiVo Premiere (TCD746320) and the TiVo Premiere XL (TCD748000) are now available for pre-order on the TiVo site and on Amazon.
The new TiVo Premiere boxes are shipping on April 12th.
The TiVo Premiere with 320GB HDD sells for $299.99. Features include HD user interface, 45 hours of HD programming, cable card support, video on demand services like Netflix.
The TiVo Premiere XL features a 1TB HDD and sells for $499.99. The Premiere XL allows your to record 150 hours of HD programming, is THX certified and comes with a premium blacklit remote.
Like with previous TiVo DVRs you need also the TiVo service selling for $12.95/month.
Internet services like Netflix, Amazon video on demand or Youtube are available now in TVs and Blu-ray players. It was necessary for TiVo to add these. TiVo still has the best DVR service on the market. Adding the internet service under the same easy to use UI makes it a winning product. TiVo also goes directly against Cable boxes with this comparison chart.
TiVo relaunched there site and is full with TiVo Premiere information now.
