My processor has a fan, my power supply has a fan, and each of my video cards has a fan. That makes four fans in my (fairly good) gaming rig. Want to guess how many fans Sapphire's new Radeon HD 5970 has?
THREE FREAKING FANS. (via SlashGear) Seriously, that's almost as many as are in my entire machine, for one video card. One video card that is the fastest ever. At least, according to Sapphire it is. They may not be the least biased source in the world, but their three fan graphics card lends some credence to this statement.
Oh, and also the fact that this card has 4 GB of DDR3 memory and a GPU that runs at 850 MHz. The memory is clocked at 1,200 MHz, and Sapphire brags a 3DMark Vantage score of 22,000ish. This card has two dual-link DVI ports, a Mini DisplayPort, and twin 8-pin power connectors. There's no word on price or availability, but you can pretty safely assume this thing is going to cost an arm and a leg.
On the plus side, if you buy this graphics card (with its 3 FANS) you'll be able to handle pretty much any game that launches in the next two or three years.
