Well, that didn't take long. Bluetooth 3.0 is still young and fairly uncommon, but Bluetooth 4.0 will be hitting stores in Q4 2010 nonetheless. (Bluetooth SIG via SlashGear) Michael Foley, head of the SIG, says that the “most notable” improvement of 4.0 over 3.0 is the fact that it meets new low-energy specifications.

These energy savings will only exist in a special low-energy mode that is intended for small, low-battery devices like watches. In normal use, you are unlikely to notice any power savings with Bluetooth 4.0 over 3.0. Still...yay?
