Ladies and gentlemen, it's official. Facebook games have come full circle, as one of the biggest entertainment corporations in the world, Sony, now has a game on the social network platform. Sony Online Entertainment (SOE), the arm of the company that's primarily in charge of Web-based and online PC games, has launched PoxNora on Facebook.
PoxNora is a multiplayer online collectible card game, which SOE acquired last year. There are 2.5 million registered users, and it becomes the first SOE franchise to go to Facebook. "The Facebook platform offers gamers a new and powerful way to interact with and tap into their social communities," said SOE president John Smedley.
Players can invite friends, execute micro-transactions, and achieve virtual goods and accomplishments. It is quite a sign of how successful the gaming side of Facebook has become.
Sony promises to bring additional games to the social media giant as well.
