Predicted Nexus One Sales Down 70%

Buy Nexus One from Amazon Cyber Monday and Black Friday Now

There was a lot of hype behind the Nexus One when it first launched. People nerded out like crazy over the first Google phone. Between its hard-core specs and tight connection to one of the most popular companies in technology, analysts predicted the Nexus One would be a big seller. TechRadar reports that some analysts estimated as many as 3.5 million sales in the first year.

That number has been slashed substantially. After several lethargic months of sale, the Nexus One is only expected to sell around one million units before the end of 2010. Those are not bad numbers for a smartphone at all. They aren't nearly what an “iPhone killer” would need, but Google and HTC aren't going bankrupt over this device.
