The NPD Group has just released the February console sales numbers for the US and, for a change, the Nintendo Wii is not on top via Fudzilla). Last month, the 360 sold some 422,000 consoles, while the Wii “only” managed to sell 397,000 in the same span of time. The PS3 finished last with 360,100.
Microsoft's victory is due to some very big software releases as well as retailer promotions that pushed sales. This win marks the second time ever that the Xbox 360 has whupped the Wii in sales, making it a very momentous occasion. I can guarantee you there are going to be celebrations in Redmond tonight.
