Apple today officially opened up the channel for iPad pre-orders, confirming that initial supply of the device is going to very tight.
This comes as little surprise after a manufacturing snafu caused Apple to push back its highly planned national launch for the iPad, originally slated for later this month.
Now, in addition to restricting pre-order limits online, it may be impossible to actually get one in a store, even if you camp out.
Apple Store retail locations will only be receiving enough iPads to fulfill customer pre-orders. So if you want one on launch day, you will need to go to the store soon and put in a reservation.
The iPad is now scheduled for an April 3 launch, with another version equipped with wireless 3G capabilities due out a few weeks later.
