Today, AT&T has sent out a press release announcing the launch of four new quick-messaging devices. These phones represent a new category of mobile phones that offer consumer data services, messaging, and video sharing for a budget price. These devices have the AT&T address book, which syncs contacts to an online address book, and "next generation messaging", which adds in group messaging and "reply all" functions.
The Samsung Strive will be out on March 21. It will have black/silver and purple/charcoal color combos. The camera is a 2.0 MP shooter, and it will have a verticle sliding keyboard. It'll cost just $19.99 with a 2-year agreement after a $50 rebate. The Samsung Sunburst will also launch on the 21st. It is GPS-enabled and features a widget-bar for one-touch access to phone functions. It'll cost $39.99 after a 2-year agreement.
Next we have the Pantech Link, due out in the "coming weeks". This phone is an ultra-light messaging phone with a full keyboard. There's also the Pantech Pursuit, which has a full touch screen and a vertical sliding keyboard. It will be out ths summer and will pack face-recognition and geotagging.
