And another challenger enters the ring. APCMag reports that Samsung is building a slate-PC that will be capable of docking with a desktop computer. This tablet will pack a substantial amount of processing power. One of Samsung's goals is to make a slate that can act as a "primary device" for people who compute casually. The slate will launch in 2H2010.
Connectivity is another area of focus for the Samsung slate. We can expect 3G and WiFi out of it, and WiMax or LTE is not out of the question either. This slate will very likely pack an Atom processor, and I think there's a good chance we'll see a dual-core Atom CPU in the final product. Samsung wants 'PC-grade processing power', and a dual-core CPU is the best way to go about doing that.
