Apple developers who want their iPad apps available when the iPad section of the App Store opens will have to submit their creations to Apple no later than March 27th.
According to a PC World story, an e-mail was sent to all registered iPhone developers notifying them of the deadline. It is assumed that the iPad App Store will be available day-and-date with the launch of the iPad on April 3rd.
It's tricky for some developers because most of them haven't even felt an iPad or even seen one in person. However, the general infrastructure is the exact same as the iPhone. In fact, most iPad apps will work on the iPhone and vice versa. But because of the exclusive features to the iPad, it is also possible to make apps that only work on the tablet device.
All prospective iPad launch apps must be completed, including being digitally signed and uploaded to iTunes Connect, by March 27th at 8 PM Eastern Time.
