Nintendo has announced a new 3D portable game console that will be called the 3DS. The cool thing about the console is that it is said to need no glasses to play 3D games. The console will officially launch at E3 this summer.
Exactly how Nintendo is pulling the glasses-free 3D off is unknown. Some think eye tracking tech will be used to produce the 3D effects. It would make more sense to me for the device to be using a special film or screen that does what the glasses do. Update: Nintendo 3DS using 3M 3D Film LCD Displays?.
