It's not all about the iPad. While Apple's tablet definitely has a vice-grip on the public's imagination, serious competitors are starting to rise up across the world. One such product, designed by German manufacturer Neofonie, is called the WePad. Gearlog reports that this device is set to launch all over Europe.
This gadget packs in a webcam and runs on the Android OS. Europe's largest publisher, Gruner+Jahr, has given the pad its approval. Neofonie CEO Bernd Buchhol bragged about the device during an annual press conference, and the German newspaper BILD is in talks for a content deal with the tablet.
A full list of content partners should be out on April 12. Hopefully by then we'll know a few more details about this intriguing iPad competitor. Too bad it probably won't come to the states.
