The ThinkGeek guys are repeat Gadget April Fool's pranksters and the gadget shop has revealed again several fake gadgets today. What is supposed to be real is the ThinkGeek Apple Newton Giveaway.
The Apple Newton MessagePad 100 (H1000) was released 1993 and was Apple's first attempt to offer a touchscreen device. It failed big time. Watching the vintage Newton commercial below, the Newton was just ahead of its time.
The Apple Newton MessagePad in the ThinkGeek Giveaway is not in mint condition. It is used but works. Since you can get a used Apple Newton on eBay for under $100 right now, ThinkGeek throughs in a $1,000 shopping spree.
The 2nd place winner will get an actual new 16GB WiFi Apple iPad plus a $500 shopping spree.
