Blizzard Entertainment, makers of World of Warcraft, Starcraft, Diablo, and that one game about Vikings, have two new titles en route. A new product page for these handheld games is now life. Blackthorne2: Thorne Harder, is a side-scroller that promises “quasi photorealistic graphics” an “epic” hard-rock sound-track and “some sort of arbitrary Twitter and Facebook integration”. Sounds grand!
Next we've got Queen's Quest, an RPG based around the Queen of Blades. This text-controlled video game has a “sweeping saxophone soundtrack” and comes on 17 floppy discs. It also features a “Revolutionary” new DRM scheme that only takes five simple steps (and periodic phone verification) to activate!
These games will be available for all major models of smartphone, although iPhone users will need to open the app in a secondary handset. Blackthorne 2 and Queen's Quest are expected to launch...never. Kudos to Blizzard for another fine April Fool's joke!
